Resume Format for Freshers: What to Write With No Experience

Writing a resume with no work experience feels impossible — but recruiters hiring freshers aren't looking for experience. They're looking for evidence you can learn, finish things, and communicate. Your education, projects and skills carry that evidence. Here's the exact structure that works.

The fresher resume structure (in this order)

1. Name + headline — not just your name: "Priya Sharma — B.Tech CSE Graduate | Java • SQL • Web Development".
2. Contact details — professional email, phone, city, LinkedIn.
3. Career objective (2–3 lines) — what you bring and what you want. Example: "B.Com graduate with strong Excel and Tally skills seeking an accounting role where accuracy and willingness to learn create immediate value."
4. Education — degree, college, year, CGPA/percentage (include it if it's good).
5. Projects — your work experience substitute. Name, one line on what it does, 2-3 bullets on what YOU built and the result.

What to leave OUT

• Father's name, date of birth, marital status, religion, full postal address — outdated "biodata" fields that waste space and invite bias.

• School details below 10th standard.
• Generic hobbies ("listening to music"). Keep a hobby only if it signals a skill: "run a food blog with 5k followers" says content skills.
